Malba Barahona is an educational researcher and language teacher educator. Associate Professor at Facultad de Educación, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile Malba holds a PhD from the Australian National University, a Master in Linguistics from the Universidad de Chile and a degree in the teaching of English from Universidad Metropolitana de Ciencias de la Educación (Pedagógico). Malba has been teaching in higher education institutions over the last 20 years in the fields of foreign language learning, second language teacher education, applied linguistics, and cultural-historical activity theory.
Whilst in Australia, Malba taught Spanish to undergraduate students at the Australian National University. She also taught Language Acquisition and Applied Linguistics to MA TESOL students at the University of Canberra.
