This site has been designed to provide support and resources for the three participants in the EFL pre-service teacher practicum: the important triad of the university-based supervisors, teacher mentors and pre-service teachers.

 

On this website, university-based supervisors, teacher mentors and pre-service teachers can find resources to assist in maximising the learning potential of the EFL pre-service teacher practicum experience.

 

This site is an outcome of the recently completed research project, Improving Collaboration between schools and universities to support more effectively pre-service teachers´ learning. This work was funded by the Chilean government through CONICYT (PAI 82140007) and sponsored by Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso.

 

This project, led by Dr. Malba Barahona, sought to understand how teacher educators and teacher mentors support EFL pre-service teachers in the activity of learning to teach EFL across Chile. It worked to find ways for teacher educators and teacher mentors to collaborate and to more effectively collaborate to support the development and capabilities of pre-service teachers.
